I can't believe it has already been four months since Lucas was born. Time flies and I can't handle it! He is getting so big. We went to the doctor this morning and he is healthy as can be. He was in the 95th percentile for his height (imagine that) and 50th for his head and weight. He weighs 15 lbs and is 26.5 inches long. All the nurses kept saying how tall he was and I just had to laugh. Does he really have a choice? He was so happy the whole doctors visit. He smiled and giggled and laughed at the nurses and doctor. When they gave him his shots he cried for a second and then looked at the nurse and flashed her another smile! What a funny kiddo. I was hoping she would say it was probably okay to start a little rice cereal cause the kid is always hungry! I think he needs a little something else but she didn't seem to think he was ready until 6 months. Did anyone else start cereal at a younger age than six months? Anyways we are going to try and have his four month photo shoot today so watch for some cute pics.
I found this on my computer and realized that I never really sent it out! It turned out so dang cute too. So view it here and enjoy!

Brynn,
I started Maggie on rice cereal at 4 months and she was plenty ready. I don't understand why they tell some people 6 months. I say if you feel you want to start him on it, go for it. It won't hurt him.
That announcement is way cute - I am sad you did not send it via postal mail so I could hang it on my fridge and Anna could talk about him all day long ;)
I gave Anna rice cereal at 4 months - that is when her doctor gave me the okay. It took her a few tries to get the hang of it and then I stopped because it just got crazy with Ross graduating and moving and giving her a bottle was so much easier. After a month of not having it, she refused to eat it again. She would honestly dry heave and puke if I even got a spoonful of the stuff near her. So I say go for it if he is showing signs that he is ready (I forget the signs, but you probably know them) and keep trying with it cause it is a little difficult for them at first. But it is so nice for them to eat something else, especially when it is cheap. LOL. I have just written a novel....sorry.... Good luck!
Cute invite! Change your settings on the invitation from CMYK to RGB. Hopefully that will fix the problem, all computer screens read RGB and they do funky things when you put CMYK things on there. Ok enough graphic talk, I cant believe you already have a four month old! I started Austin on rice cereal at 4 months too. That is when my doctor told me I could so I had at it. Its also when I started Austin on a full time bottle so he seemed to get really fat and happy all in a months time. Feeding them rice cereal for the first time is soo funny so make sure whenver you do it you have your camera(:
Duh, I feel stupid! Thanks Barb I don't know why I didn't think about that! So I really think I might just start giving him rice cereal. I don't get why some doctors say four months and some say six. I tried to push it like I really wanted to start at 4 months and she was pretty stern about not starting until closer to six. He's my kid right I can do what I want!
I gave maddux baby food at four months---my doc was way conservative too but I did it anyway. M was always so hungry!!! I love his costume----he is dang cute!!!!
I thought it was "standard procedure" to give your babies rice cereal at 4 months. That's odd that your doctor didn't recommend it. I would start it if I were you and just see how he does.
Btw, who's your pediatrician? I remember seeing a picture a while back that looked like Pediatric Care of Ogden. I take my kids there (to Dr. Clawsen) and she's never told me to hold out on rice cereal until 6 months, so I was just curious.
