So pretty much I am a little crazy and decided that no matter what we were going to California for my family reunion at the first of July. I just couldn't miss it. So we packed up our 5 week old baby and crazy 3 year old and made the long drive to San Diego.
Guess what, it went awesome!
Emily was AMAZING the whole time. She pretty much just slept the entire way, making some squeaking noises when she was hungry. Lucas did great too, he watched a billion movies and slept. It was so worth the long drive. We had a blast.
The reunion was at my aunts house, which is pretty much just like staying at a resort.
Lucas was obsessed with the swimming pool and stayed in it for hours.
He also fell in the pool once without his life jacket on and almost drowned, luckily my cousins husband was lightning fast and jumped in fully clothes to save him.
I still have nightmares about that one.
The first day there we went to the beach. In the past Lucas has loved the beach, but he didn't love it this year. He kept saying that the water hurt him, took me a while to remember that he had a huge scrape on his leg from falling and the water was making it sting! So he went in the water once and chilled with me on the beach the rest of the time.

Doesn't he look so cool in his shades?
The next day was the reunion and we had a blast just hanging out with everyone.
Of course I didn't get pictures of anyone else, I really need to work on that.
My Aunt's yard really is so beautiful. Her gardens are amazing. The lighting one night was so pretty so I took full advantage. Nate was teaching Lucas how to play a little volleyball, it was so cute. I went a little crazy with pictures.

The last day we went down to Seaport village and had lunch and walked around. There was a guy with tons of birds doing a little show and he chose Lucas to hold one of the birds! He was a little unsure of the whole thing!

Gotta love Nate's retro 80's sunglasses, maybe I should get him some new ones!
I promise Emi really was there. She pretty much lived the life and got loved by everyone there, I just didn't get very many pictures. Here are a few to prove it! My cute cousins Claire and Jessi giving her some love.

Jessi was hilarious holding her. She is the youngest child and you can tell she hasn't been around babies that much! She wasn't exactly sure how to hold her! We were laughing at her so hard.
My parents were kind enough to let us fly home and they drove the car back. Definitely a lot faster then driving, (minus the fact that we got stuck in the Phoenix airport for a few hours while they repaired our plane!)

We had such a fun trip, it was totally worth the millions of extra things you have to bring for a newborn.
