Wow, what a life changing event it is to become a mother! I really do love it a ton. It is a lot more work than I ever imagined but it is so rewarding. I think I would enjoy it even more if I dealt well with having NO sleep! Lucas is really a good baby though and he has brought so much love and closeness into our little family. There are so many little things that I love about being a mom! I love the little squeaky noises he makes! I love his long skinny legs and long toes. His feet look just like his dads and they are my favorite! I love it when he smiles at me (even though I'm sure it's just gas!). I love the time I get to spend with him while he is eating (even at three in the morning!). I love watching Nate with him. He is such a good dad. I love how cute Mya is with him. She always has to check on him and she loves to lick his toes and steal his blankets. Anyways it has been a long hard two weeks but I think I am slowly catching on to this mothering stuff. If anyone has advice on anything feel free to impart your wisdom! I am always looking for good ideas and hints. I think I am just in survival mode right now! Here are some more pictures. I really need to be better with pictures!
What a cute dad!

Here we are at his first doctors appointment. When the doctor was examining him he not only peed on her but spit up and pooped! I think all his plumbing is working great

I just thought this picture was way funny!

He has the funniest facial expressions! This is his concerned look which he has most of the time!

On a side note, last week Nate let Mya out at like midnight and he could hear her freaking out in the backyard. He went back there and thought that she had found some kittens , after further inspection it turned out to be two baby racoons! YIKES! Nate looked around for the mom but couldn't find her. They wandered off the next night and we haven't seen them since! I thought we lived in the city not in the woods!

Sleep when he sleeps, that's the only way to survive. Even if it's like the middle of the day and you feel like cleaning up a little, forget it. Just take a nap(s) when you can.
I cant believe you have racoons! That's crazy. You must be exhausted. I remember feeling sooo overwhelmed the first couple of weeks. The sleep part was a huge adjustment for me too. The nap advice is key, and when people offer to help with the baby LET THEM! It will give you some extra snoozes, and time to yourself which sometimes a mom needs to stay sain(;
I wish I would have napped when Anna did...I never did...I am strange like that. You will do great - just go with the flow and mostly just make through the first few weeks - that should occupy most of your time ;) Thanks for letting us come and see you again. He is adorable.
Nate looks super tired in that picture..I am sure he is actually. But I agree it is the cutest thing to see husbands turn into daddys.
Sleep deprivation was horrible! You don't realize what days of no sleep do to you. My only advice is to enjoy every moment, because they grow so fast. M used to love to just snuggle up to me and I loved it. Now he doesn't do it as much and I miss it.
I am so glad you got more pictures..he is adorable. The advice about sleeping is great because when you have the next one that becomes a lot harder TRUST ME!! I have one napping right now and one sitting on my lap. Just remember to go with the flow. Routines are great but right now it is just a matter of survival. Even with Jace being 2 1/2 and Ellie 7 1/2 months some days all I can do is survive.
Ah, he is so sweet!! Thanks so much again for letting us come see him. I loved his little noises and his newborn smell...so sweet. Ah the days of no sleep....it gets better and they sleep better...or you just get used to not having sleep! :-) One of the two!!! Racoons! Sheesh, that would have freaked me out!! Let me know if you need anything!
Oh he is sooo cute!!! and you look absoulutely fabulous for just having a baby, way to go.
Enjoy this time now... I remember the first night that Ellie didn't wake up for a feeding. I woke up feeling unusually refreshed and immediately checked to make sure that Ellie was still breathing... totally freaked me out... ENJOY!!!!
