We also took Lucas on his first hike. It felt so good to get out and actually be active again! He slept the whole time but we think he had fun!

Camping!
So last week we took Lucas on his first camping trip. Okay, we really didn't camp, we just hung out with the family during the day and then slept at my parent's house at night, but we were in the mountains! Lucas loved it. He really likes to be outside. He mostly just ate and slept and tried to hide from all the bugs. It felt so good to be in the mountains and I can't wait until next year when we can really camp. Nate went on a hike with my uncle and cousins and Mya and they had a great time. They hiked up by Tony Grove to White Pine Lake. I was pretty jealous that I wasn't able to go! Mya had a blast and loved swimming in the lake. She is a total water dog and could swim all day long. It is always so much fun being with my family. They are so great!
Mya really loves hiking and camping. She is the happiest when she is outside in the mountains.
We had to laugh at this picture of Lucas' first camping trip. He pretty much just slept in his little "tent" by himself on the picnic table!

Sounds like a fun time - Tony Grove is beautiful. I especially love the pic of Mya posing in front of the mounatins and Nate's grimace in the last picture. Hopefully Lucas doesn't inherit that smile ;) Kidding Nate!
The peak behind Mya is called Gog. I thought it was funny that we got a picture of Gog and Dog.
Look at you all adventurous with your new baby. Nice comment Nate! It's good to hear the other perspective. Don't be jealous you can't go Brynn BASK in it! I have no excuses and believe me every once in a while I'd like to be able to say I can't I have to watch the baby. What I'm really saying is that sometimes things are hard and I like to sit. I especially wish I could use this at Theme parks. My stomach is growing weaker and weaker while Tyler's family, except his mom, has stomachs of stone. They like to go on rides repeatedly it makes me queasy just thinking about the scrambler.
you guys are brave to bring Lucas out into the great wide open! It was so much fun to see you the other night, Nolan loved it too.
i love tony grove! it is gorgeous up there! we wanted to go camping up there this year...crap...where did that time go. ha tell nate that of course that is brandons hand with the sweet jewelry on....he wanted to wear the all pink one maybe with some basketball charms hanging off...but he had just worn it the day before and didn't want to be repetitive
Ah that fresh air looks so good right about now! I'm glad you got to bask in the mountains. I have yet to get out of the house with both kids by myself. Ahhh I get nervous just thinking about it.
Ah! that looks so refreshing. Brynny you guys are the cutest family. I can't wait to come back and join you on some of your adventures. I am so glad you got out! I love Lucas' hat by the way.
hey, of course i remember you. your family is so cute. i didn't know you had your baby boy. i remember someone saying you were preggo but i guess i didn't realize you had the cute little guy. he's a little stud. you're lucky he sleeps in that baby carrier! oh how i wish max would have done that:)
oh thanks for the comment. so i'll tell you what i know about lenses, but honestly i'm no expert. yay on a new camera! that's pretty exciting. i love my nikon. i hope you'll grow to love yours too. so the lenses i have are the 50 mm f1.8, the 55-200 mm VR, and the standard 18-55 mm lens. Two of these lenses came in a kit (got it at Costco.) the 50 mm one I bought separately. I LOVE the 50 mm f1.8 lens but it doesn't autofocus on the Nikon d40x or the d40. I don't know if it autofocuses on the d60? something you might want to check out before you buy it. (i don't know what kind of nikon you got.) i do think it focuses on the d300 though. anyway, that is kind of an annoying thing because you have to focus manually. which is very, very tricky. the other two lenses auto focus on the D40x and D40. I love the zoom/telephoto lens. Its great. It's a VR lens. (look for that--it means vibration reduction which will make your pics sharper and not so blurry.) I do also know that one of the best lenses Nikon makes is the nikkor 18-200 mm f2.8 VR. I don't have this lens (would love to), but i hear it is amazing. I think its around $700 though. ANYWAY, this is so long. sorry, i don't have your email.
Check out www.kenrockwell.com. He'll give you awesome tips on what lenses are the best. Better than I can. I do love the lenses I have though, and my 55-200 mm VR runs around $200..sometime less. Which is more affordable. the 18-55 is essential for everyday, indoor shots.
hope that helps! congrats on your little baby! enjoy him while he's still small. they grow up in a jiffy. ...and, enjoy your NIkon!!!
Hey guys! your pictures are so cute! Lucas us growing so big! How are you guys doing adjusting to your new baby? He is so cute. That is so cool your parents lived in Flagstaff it's such a sweet place. Let me know if you guys are ever heading to Vegas so we can get together! Take care! Heather
