I am so behind on blogging. I think we are just having too much fun this summer.
This is a recap of the last few weeks, beware it might be long.

A few weeks ago we tagged along with Nate's friend Eric up to the Uintahs to do some fishing.
We had to drive in on a very very bumpy road for about six miles before we got to the trailhead. Somehow Lucas managed to fall asleep while we were bouncing all over the place. I really couldn't believe it.

Lucas and I just chilled on the shore, ate some goldfish, and threw lots and lots of rocks and sticks into the lake.

This was Luke's first time fishing with daddy. I think he thought it was pretty cool.
Photobucket
My hot fisherman. I may be biased but I think he looks great in his camo pants!
Photobucket
I was so proud of myself, I caught two fish before Nate even caught one. Yup I love fishing.
Photobucket
Lucas was kind of freaked out by the fish. He didn't love being near them, but we managed to get him in a picture with them!
Photobucket
Thanks Eric for the great day. Sorry there are no pictures of you!

A few days later we headed to the Gateway on the Frontrunner. Lucas loves anything with spraying water. He didn't mind that there were a MILLION people there. He just wandered around and let the water spray him in the face!

And the reason for the trip to the Gateway was for this stuffed monkey. You see we are really stellar parents and let Lucas have his binky for WAY to long. He only had it at night and at nap time, but we decided it had gone on long enough. We came up with a plan. We took him to Build A Bear and let him choose any stuffed animal he wanted, he got to make it and bathe it and we even named it Binky. He seemed pretty enamored with it. We kept telling him all day that now that he is two he doesn't need a binky, and that now he has his stuffed monkey at night. Well after about four days/nights of whining and crying for a few HOURS at bedtime and naptime we have officially transitioned to no binky. He now loves his monkey and cuddles with it all night long. We have discovered that he talks for a long long time before he goes to sleep at night. I think he always played in his crib for a while before he fell asleep before but he had the binky in so we just couldn't hear him. Man the kid has a lot to say and it sure does take him a long time to go to sleep!

I loved this picture of Lucas with his Dad's hat on. He had a blast on the train!

Now comes 4th of July weekend. We headed up to Logan to hang out with the fam. My cousin and her family, and Nate's mom all came up. We had so much fun!
Lucas had a ball playing with the other kids. They played in the sand for hours!

We all went canoeing on Saturday morning. It was so much fun. Lucas surprisingly did really well for sitting in a boat for three hours. He loved to drag his hand in the water and even got brave enough to straddle the side of the canoe. Thanks Jordy for the pictures.
Photobucket
My sister and her husband tipped over of course. It may have been caused by a collision with Nate's canoe.
Photobucket
I rode in the canoe with my cousin Jordan and Jamie. Probably better that I wasn't in the canoe with Lucas, I would have been stressed the whole time with him hanging off the side of the boat.

That night we went to the Cruise-In parade. They have this big car show every year and they drive all the cars up and down Main Street. Lucas loved all the big trucks. He was so excited the whole time.

Last fun activity, I promise.
Nate's Aunt and Uncle got a boat which means lots of boating for us!
We headed last week a couple of times.
Lucas loved it. He would sit in the back of the boat and watch everyone and help hold the flag up when someone fell.
Photobucket
He was totally ready to start water skiing, maybe in a few years!
Photobucket
This is Nate's cousin Trae and I can't stop laughing at this picture. I have yet to get a picture of Trae when he is smiling normally.
Photobucket
We let Lucas ride on the tube and he loved it. I was unsure of how he felt when he was on the tube, his face had NO expression on it and he didn't say a word. As soon as it stopped though he only said "one more tube". I think he liked it.
Photobucket
We have reached the end of our fun activities as of late.
I love summer and wish it would stay forever!

Your comments about the binky reminded me of my graduation when you came with your mom and grandpa and grandma. You were such a cute little bugger and I especially remember how you could "spin" your binky around!

Oh man. I remember finding out how LONG Anna really talked for/was awake after we put her to bed when we took her binky away too. It gets better when they stop taking a nap though. Now she crashes in minutes. lol. Thanks again for coming down and hanging out with me. We had fun. Evan fell asleep before we even left the parking lot of the fro yo place and now every time Anna sees a tall blond girl she says, 'Hey! That's Brynn. I know Brynn'.

So funny about the talking thing. I have yet to hear Ava because we still give her a bottle for naps and at night. <-I know worst mother of the year award right here. We just transitioned her to a toddler bed and the 'baba' is going next. Then onto potty training! Ah I hate that our kids are growing up! It scares me!

ps. woops..I didnt say anything about the other fun things. Looks like amazing couple of weeks! canoeing, trax, boating, AND the cruise in? Sounds like a blast. I LOVE SUMMER. I hope it never ends.
