We've had the flu at our house.
I'll tell you one thing, pregnant women should not be allowed to get the flu.
It's just no FAIR!
A few weeks ago we went up to Heber for a little getaway.
Our friends just bought a beautiful house up there and invited us to come stay.
And in true Brynn fashion the only picture I took was of Lucas watching Youtube on the computer!

But isn't he cute.

I forgot to take pictures of the huge boxes they saved for Lucas to play in, he had a blast!
So my child is not one for coloring or doing crafts.
I have tried, believe me.
He spends like 10 minutes scribbling as fast as he can, and then he says he's done.
He would much rather be playing with his trains and cars or jumping off something.
He's a boy.
I decided that maybe he would like to learn how to use scissors.
Cutting seems more manly right?
I was a little nervous, that's all I need is for him to cute other things up in my house, but he did really really good.

I love the intense look on his face. He was trying so hard to figure it out, and he would NOT let me help him!

He pretty much just made little cut marks all around his paper, and he was so proud.
I've tried to do it with him since, and once again he only wants to do it for like 5 minutes before he is off to destroy something else. Oh well I tried!

Jace also does not do crafts. Don't worry though...you will more then make up for it with your little girl. Ellie could color, paint, draw, etc ALL day.
Something fun that I do with my kids to practice using scissors is to draw different wavy lines on a paper with a sticker at the end. They think it is great to cut along the lines and end up at a sticker and it is good practice.
I am going to point out the positive aspects of this situation... you will not find crayon on any of your furniture or marker on his favorite new toy because it needed "painting" and his hair will stay the way an adult cut it... can't tell you how frustrating it is to get Ellie's hair looking so cute just to have her take chunks out of it! Scissors are hidden!
oh... and pens, crayons, pencils, and markers are for PAPER only.... I made her say this several times after finding her "painting" her new doll house, dolls, and furniture with a magic marker! Most of it came off except the marks on the wooden part of the doll house! UHG!
Look at Lucas' hair! I love the shaggy look. I am positive Evan is going to be the same way - he could already care less to color (unless it is on something like, oh our new desk chair - STINKER).
BRYNN! I can't believe how big Lucas is getting! What a doll!
I hope you are all doing well.
max is the same exact way. he really could care less about art stuff these days. he would rather play with cars. he scribbles a few things on his paper in primary at church and he's done in 2 seconds, whereas the other kids will color nice and pretty. ha ha. but most of the kids in his class are girls, so maybe that's the difference!
